Jon, I'm not his friend, I was blatantly poking fun at him you absolute cretin.
But honestly mate (using the word ironically, since apparently you need things being spelt out for you), I wouldn't bring up other people's criminal records if I were you. Your own record isn't exactly squeaky clean,
Maybe we can try and only speak 'politics' for a trial period.
Any thoughts about the Inquiry into Iraq lasting 7 years with 12 volumes of documents costing £10 Million yet out COI in Child Abuse over 2 years costs £23 Million?
It's symptomatic that everything our own government does ends up more expensive than when the UK does it.
I couldn't predict exactly why in the case of these enquiries, but more generally speaking we spend a hell of a lot of consultants and reviews stretched out over long periods of time because we don't elect government's on manifestos that are ready to just be implemented if they're elected, so they nationalise their own policy making.
I'm not sure why Chilcot was so cheap. It might be that they had the QE2 Conference Centre to permanently house them at a negligible rate maybe. Not sure.
The party has yet to make a formal decision on who it will be. That decision will be made by the selection committee/ management committee, but we have decided to hold off until we have met with our wider membership to consult with them soon.
If it ends up being who I suspect it will be, the they are well aware of you, don't you worry about that :)
Jon, it's funny how literally moments after I spot you out in St Brelade a comment comes up on PJWFS under your Paul Holmes account saying I'd been spotted in St Brelade.
Don't ever claim that you don't run these fake profiles because it's so blatantly obvious it's you.
A full election leaflet will go to every household in the week of the 29th August, but I'm hoping to release a preliminary manifesto in the next few days.
David Roterham claims to be a friend of yours and writes a blog stabbing you in the back. With friends like him who needs enemies? I'll be voting for you in the by election Sam.
Very disappointing comments from him. The whole blog basically calls me a liar. Some friend eh? He's entitled to disagree with me standing, but to pretty much overtly accuse me of lying is childish to say the least.
I expected dirty tricks in this campaign but am disappointed that it's started off from the anti-establishment side.
As I've done in every campaign, I won't lie about any of my opponents for political gain because it's the wrong thing to do. A shame I can't count on everyone else to keep to that basic level of integrity.
I don't understand why you think he's calling you a liar. Isn't it just his opinion that you are making a mistake? Surely you expected people to question why a sitting deputy would stand for senator when there are no benefits in money or length of term. I admit I can't understand the link he makes with the MFTP.
His blog overtly says that the reasons we have publicly given for me being chosen as the candidate are not the real reasons that decision was made.
That's calling me a liar.
The reasons why I was chosen and the reasons I have publicly given for me being chosen are exactly the same.
He's entitled to view that decision as the wrong one, but I haven't lied about why I'm the candidate.
The link with the MTFP is essential.
This is an Island-wide vote for candidates based on where they stand on the political issues of the day. The biggest issue is the MTFP. If the public are happy to see their services cut and taxes rise, they can vote for a candidate who will support it, or if they oppose it, they can vote for one who is opposed.
No, the cuts to public services and tax rises are NOT just a matter for States Members, they're a matter for every member of the public who deserves to have their say.
If the public vote for a candidate who is against the MTFP, then that should be taken by the Council of Ministers as a public rejection of their plan.
What Senators are attending to represent the feelings of all 12 Parishes?
ReplyDeleteI'd be amazed if any bothered to show up. They don't represent anyone but themselves and their rich mates.

Is it true you are putting a person forward on an Island Wide Mandate in this by-election?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteThey are saying its Nick Le Cornu, please tell me that's a joke.
DeleteWho is "they"?
DeleteIf it isn't coming from Reform Jersey directly then it's nonsense. The amount of rubbish spread about us by a few losers on Facebook is astounding.
So people who do not support you are called losers?
DeleteThanks for clearing it up.
Jon, do you not get bored with this nonsense?
DeleteOf course I didn't even vaguely say that people who don't support us are losers.
I quite blatantly was referring to people who spend their lives on Facebook making up lies about me and my party.
That's a relatively small number of people who you are well acquainted with.
Who are you putting up as a candidate and do they know who I am?

Its down to the Assembly as a whole to either approve or reject the MTFP. The by election is not a referendum on it so you are making no sense at all.
